Baking Tradition. Building Futures.
Since 1933, Mazurek’s Bakery has been a Buffalo favorite, known for its authentic rye bread, pretzels, and classic Polish treats. Now part of OLV Human Services, we’re keeping the tradition alive while creating new opportunities for students through hands-on workforce training.
You’ll find Mazurek’s products at seasonal pop-ups, local markets, wholesale partners, and the OLVHS Café at 790 Ridge Road, bringing the flavors you love to more places than ever.
Mazurek’s Bakery: A Tradition Moving Forward
In 2020, OLV Human Services purchased Mazurek’s Bakery to ensure its legacy would not only live on, but also grow in meaningful new ways. By integrating Mazurek’s into our WAY (Work Appreciation for Youth) Program, students and young adults have gained valuable hands-on workforce training in every aspect of the bakery -- from baking and decorating to customer service, purchasing, scheduling, and more.
This vocational initiative builds on Father Baker’s vision of preparing youth with skills that empower them for life. Through Mazurek’s, students at Victory Education also have the opportunity to earn hours toward Career Development & Occupational Studies (CDOS) commencement credentials, gaining real-world experience that carries into future employment. For more information on how to get your students involved in work-based learning with the bakery and OLVHS, please contact Marga McMahon at (716) 828-7004 or [email protected].
