* Now Available: PCIT

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is now available at the outpatient clinic, making our center one of only two in the region to offer this unique, effective approach. PCIT is:

  • An evidence-based behavioral intervention for young children (typically ages 2–7) with emotional and behavioral disorders.
  • It involves real-time coaching of parents while they interact with their child, usually through a one-way mirror and earpiece.
  • The therapy is rooted in improving parent-child relationships, enhancing positive behavior, and reducing disruptive behavior.

How it works:

  • Services are delivered by trained PCIT therapists in specially designed suites. During sessions, parents are coached by therapists (via a wireless hearing device) to use effective skills to increase their child’s positive behavior. This real-time coaching process is a key feature of PCIT. Through it, parents receive immediate feedback and support as they learn the skills needed to improve interactions with their child.
