Recently, it was announced that Thomas Ess was named Chief Operating Officer, Karen Ralph-Langdon Chief Administrative Officer and Dr. Ted Andrews Chief Medical Officer. More information on these stand-out team members:


In the new role of Chief Operating Officer, Thomas Ess will be responsible for the operational oversight of OLV Human Services.  He will provide strategic planning and oversight to all program operations, Corporate Compliance and Quality Improvement, and OLV’s in-house legal counsel. Through management and oversight, Ess will work to effectively grow the organization by ensuring financial strength and operational efficiencies. He will also be responsible for the organization’s enterprise risk management practices and will work with team members to identify and assess internal and external risk factors. 

Prior to OLV Human Services, Ess served as Senior Vice President Residential, Behavioral Health Services and Emergency Management / Senior Vice President Strategic Operations and Emergency Management for People, Inc.  He also functioned as the Executive Director of Autism Services, Inc. 


As Chief Administrative Officer, Karen Ralph-Langdon will be responsible for overseeing and directing the administrative functions of OLVHS’s Facilities and Environmental Services, Human Resources, and Dental Practice operations. Through her strategic vision, she will ensure that administrative functions align with organizational goals to foster operational excellence and deliver solutions that drive organizational growth.

Ralph-Langdon has served in various roles at OLVHS for the past 40 years; more than three-quarters of that time has been spent in senior / executive leadership positions.  Most recently, she served as the organization’s Chief Facility and Procurement Officer and Assistant Vice President of Facilities and Environmental Services. 


In the role of Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ted Andrews, M.D., Ph. D., will provide strategic leadership and oversight to all medical operations at OLV Human Services. As a result of his years of excellence in the medical field, Dr. Andrews will bring strategic direction to the organization’s Healthcare Center, which includes OLV’s Evaluation and Treatment Center, Outpatient Mental Health Clinic, dental center, and pediatric care office. He will ensure the high highest medical standards are met and work to achieve optimal health care outcomes for all patients. 

Prior to OLV Human Services, Dr. Andrews served as the Attending Physician at the Robert Warner Rehabilitation Center where he focused on Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Pediatrics.  He was the Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Pediatrics at State University of New York at Buffalo in the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.  Additionally, he was the Attending Physician, Divisions of General Pediatrics (Pediatric Hospital Medicine) / Second Attending, Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital.
